Last nightís concert of the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra was held in the hands of a remarkable conductor, Yoav Talmi, who presented us with a fascinating concert, bringing the music of Gustav Mahler to our stage.
Yoav Talmi belongs to the conductors who are a great pleasure to both see and hear.
Mahler's fourth symphony in G Major is a lyrical masterpiece. Fundamentally it concerns with chamber-like music. Talmi performed it with great sense for the right tempos and sound nuances. We have not heard the Stockholm Philharmonic play so well in harmony since the days of Sixten Ehrling.
